Re:Charge Aloft Perth + My fav HIIT hotel workout

Perth, Western Australia. Where the Swan River meets the Southwest Coast. Sandy beaches and the beautiful riverside Kings Park and Botanic gardens. There is no place that is sunnier and more laid back than Perth. I love coming to Perth for a weekend or over summer its a city where I can pack next to nothing but bikinis and my workout gear and really relax and recharge unlike the hustle and bustle of Melbourne.

When travelling, I never really feel like I can live like a local however, in Perth, I always feel comfortable and relaxed. The Beach air and that cheerful hello in the morning on my run, from the locals always makes me feel welcome and happy.

 

After fashion week I felt like I needed a little bit of me time and recharge from the craziness over the last few months. Off I went to Perth for the weekend to check out the new ALOFT hotel in Riverdale, Perth. The hotel is located in The Springs, Perth’s biggest urban renewal project near the Swan River. Aloft Perth delivers a fresh modern approach to the traditional hotel landscape of Perth. For the always on generation (YES ME!) The Aloft brand offers vibrant experiences and a modern style that is different by design. The Hotel has been designed for guests and local’s alike to create a sense of community engagement and a social experience. Located just 5 minutes to the CBD and 5 mins to the Perth domestic and international airport the location is paramount.

The hotel is equipped with a Recharge fitness centre and an outdoor pool. It is super easy to stay fit and healthy. When travelling I always make sure that my hotel has a decent gym and a good restaurant to make sure that I stay in check while away from my general workout and eating regime. Aloft is also a easy little walk to the Swan River where you can move your body with a brisk walk after eating a healthy buffet breakfast at the hotel.  I travel a lot and I couldn’t recommend this hotel anymore it had everything I needed and all I wanted to do was Recharge for the next few months.

Every time I travel I get asked so many questions about how I stay fit, so now you know I always book a hotel with a Gym that way I have no excuses to not workout. Another question I get asked constantly is if I could share a quick and easy  hotel workout with you. Consider your question answered –  I have one of my Fav HIIT workouts that I love to do while  travelling which can also be done in your hotel room (if there is no gym) or you can work up a sweat in the hotel gym like I did.

 

TULLY’S HOTEL HIIT WORKOUT

Warm up with a slow jog on treadmill (If in gym)

This is a solid workout that gets my heart pumping every time! I like to do a circuit (20 seconds on,10 seconds off, x 8 + rest) I will usually choose about 4-5 moves (BELOW) and repeat the circuit about X 8 times. This one is my favourite, gets me sweating and ready for the day.

BICYLES (LYING ON BACK)

TUCK JUMPS

PUSH UPS

REPEAT ABOVE X 8 TIMES. 20 SECONDS ON. 10 SECONDS OFF.  

I use an APP called HIITTimer to keep track of the time and rest periods.
