I travel a lot for work and would love to think I have my travel routine down pat by now. One of the most frequently asked questions via my instagram is. ‘What do I pack in my carry on luggage?’
So I wanted to give you guys a little insight into my top 10 carry on essentials.
I always pack one of the balls for post flight also I will sometimes use it on the plane.- Spiky Balls work on the myo-fascial system to reduce muscle tension, improve blood flow. which are all amazing for flying. Aftersitting down for 14 hours anything will help.
Detorra Balance oil is one of my favs when travelling. Not only does it smell amazing. It promotes a whole- body sense of relaxation. Helps to ease any anxious feelings + just keeps me an all-round balanced and calm. I dab a little on my wrists and on my neck before take-off + landing.
Argh you can almost feel the moisture being sucked out of your skin as soon as you board the plane! So I always pack a face sheet mask and some collagen eye patches. (The trick is to not look like you came from the set of SCREAM). Those face masks can be intense and scary for little ones walking up and down the aisle. I pop one on half way through my flight throw my hoodie on and blanket over my head and get some ZZZ’s
I love to meditate when I am flying, it’s the only time where I have zero distraction I can’t check my phone scroll through instagram or check emails. So it gives me time to really zen out. I love the 1 GIANT MIND app from the app store. Super easy to use.
Before I board I purchase at least a 1 litre bottle of water and make sure I drink it and then use it to refill for the rest of the flight. There is nothing worse than landing at your destination and dealing with dehydration.
Did you know that in an average 10-hour flight, men can lose approximately two litres of water and women around 1.6 litres – Insane! So, make sure you drink up.
I always pack some digestive tea or peppermint tea when flying and ask the flight attendant for some hot water and sip during my flight to get things moving and help with the bloating.
I very rarely eat meals on a plane – actually I don’t! I like to fast however when you live in Australia and most flights overseas are 10 hours plus I get hungry. So I like to pack some fruit and protein bar. I used to pack nuts however on one of my last flights I could NOT stop and one handful and ended up eating the entire packet because well I was bored and felt SO sick and bloated. So, I avoid packing nuts and if I do I make sure I don’t bring the entire packet.
8.Travel Size Cleanser and Moisturizer
There is nothing worse than flying with dirty skin + I have also been stuck at my destination with missing luggage, so I always make sure I have some skincare options pack in my carry on in case this happens again. You can purchase travel sized options of your fav skincare products from Mecca Maxima and Sephora.
OK so I read a stat recently that freaked me out so here it is.
“Did you know that the tray table contains nearly 10 times the bacteria of a toilet flush button!?”
One reason: People change their kids diapers on them. YUCK!!! So ever since reading this I always carry Alcohol wipes and disinfect the tray. Arm rests and any buttons that I will be touching during the flight.
When I fly I have a lot of time to think of designs or what I want out of my life, so I like to pack a diary, so I can journal or I have any design ideas I can sketch!
