Driven, passionate, outgoing
How did hello hair start up?
Hello Hair launched in December 2013. There are 3 of us who make up Hello Hair – Jade, Sophie, and myself.
None of us had any previous ties to the beauty or hair industry. Hello Hair came about we realised we’d been endlessly searching for an all natural hair mask, which wasn’t filled with chemicals and other nasties. We all have coloured hair so were desperate for something to save our locks from damage. We’d all had negative experiences with salon treatments and realised there was a gap in the market for an all natural, vegan friendly alternative.
We did some research, and identified the beneficial qualities that Coconut, Almond and Argan oils provide for nourishing hair and promoting growth.
The difference between Hello Hair Hydrating Mask and many other treatments on the market, is ours is ALL natural!
Whilst many salon and store brands claim to be 100% natural, closer inspection of their ingredients will reveal otherwise.
Hello Hair does not contain any artificial ingredients, is vegan friendly and cruelty free.
Because our treatment is made from natural ingredients, it is suitable for all. hair types. Curly, straight, wavy, frizzy and everything in between.
We definitely aren’t hairdressers by any means. We are ‘hair enthusiasts’!
Over 293k followers on instagram how did that boom come about?
We do our best to create content through our social media platforms that our audience can relate to and find inspiring.
We hope that by creating products we love and are passionate about, our enthusiasm and authenticity shines through.
We believe in speaking to our customers and followers as if they’re our best friends.
The key to success on social media is maintaining a personal relationship with followers and letting them take a sneak peek inside your world. Consumers appreciate one on one interaction, they feel like they’re a part of your journey and is creates a great rapport.
Hello hair is all natural and vegan. Have you always been conscious of what you put on and in your body?
I have been vegetarian since I was quite young, so I have always had an interest in natural, vegan products.
It is great to see consumers becoming passionate about only using cruelty free beauty product. Boycott companies who engage in animal testing, we say!
Taking the risk and starting up a business at such a young age is very ballsy. Advice for anyone else who dreams of starting something up?
Create the things you wish existed! The chance is, if you are thinking about launching something, so is someone else. Take a chance and just go for it, before you get beaten to it. You really have nothing to lose and if your business takes off, it could change your life.
Favourite things to do when you’re not working on taking over the world?
I am addicted to social media, so luckily for me, work doesn’t even feel like work. I spent a LOT of time on my phone (oops).
I love catching up with friends for brunch, going for walks, planning trips and watching re-runs on Foxtel.
Favourite ways to break a sweat?
I LOVE going for walks, especially when the weather is nice. I am known to go on a power walk and be gone for 3 hours.
I also walk a lot on the treadmill and cycle at the gym. I am definitely a cardio kind of gal, weights are not my vibe.
I have a really addictive personality and I go through stages where I become OBSESSED with food and then I get over it. Currently I am all about zucchini pasta… so good!!
3 things always in your trolley at the supermarket?
Coconut water, strawberries and lemonade (another current obsession haha).
Best advice you’ve ever been given?
My grandpa (bless him) once said to me in passing: ‘good judgement comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgement’.
It has stuck with me because looking back, all of the mistakes I have made have been valuable lessons and ultimately led me to where I am now.
