HIGH PROTEIN | Best ball recipe yet

Sweet tooth? Need that sugar fix in the afternoon or always need something sweet after dinner? These protein balls will become your new best friend. Low in cals, high in protein, vegan (if you want) and down right delicious. This recipe is definitely a hit with the TL Team. 

On the RBT luxe retreat (you can book your spot and learn more here) not only do you smash the workouts, have seminars on all things health and goal setting you also learn about nutrition, macronutrients and have cooking classes together as a group. These balls were super quick and easy to make and are now the favourite post retreat snack.

APRICOT CHIA-CHING

  • 2 cups of mashed sweet potato (no clumps)
  • 1/4 of maple syrup (or sweetener of your choice)
  • 50 g almond butter
  • 2 scoops chocolate protein powder (we used quest)
  • 2 tsps maca powder
  • 1 tblsp chia seeds
  • 30 gr of dried apricots chopped
  • 120 gr of sesame seeds (for rolling)

Method

Roast sweet potato in the oven in silver foil (don’t peel). Once the sweet potato is well cooked and soft all the way through crack it open and scoop out the flesh. Let this cool for a little bit or you might burn your hands rolling balls. Add all remaining ingredients except for sesame seeds. Mix well and then roll balls into 30 gr each (if you’re measuring) or approx 1 tablespoon then coast on the sesame seeds.

To make it vegan make sure your protein powder is plant based which will  give the balls a more dense texture or whey protein if you’re a non veg.
