BUNLESS BURGER | with avo mash

Australia Day is coming up so we mashed up the healthiest most multi-cultural thing we could do representing all of Australia. There’s a touch of Asia, Greece, Italy all mixed into this healthy BBQ dish.


  • 500G Organic extra lean beef mince
  • Handful fresh chopped coriander
  • Bunch of fresh basil chopped
  • Pinch of chilli flakes
  • ¼ cup give or take a little bit of Sweet chilli sauce (this is for the liquid to bind the burgers together)
  • Pepper


  • Chunky slices of pineapple
  • Fresh sliced beetroot
  • Haloumi cheese
  • Fresh Tomoato
  • Iceberg lettuce cups broken into individual leaves
  • – you can add whatever you want really! 


  • Avo
  • Handful of fresh coriander
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Pepper
  • Olive oil


Mix all patty ingredients together. Roll into 4 patties and place the patties in the fridge for at least 20 minutes to set (longer the better though.)

Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Heat up a fry pan for 2-3 minutes so it’s hot and place the patties and a dash of olive oil into a non stick pan on medium heat for 10 mins and flip once or twice until brown, usually these will take around 20/25 mins to cook.

Whilst your patties are on the pan, pop your pineapple, beetroot into the oven to cook at around 180 degrees.

Now onto the AVO mash,

Open up the avo and scoop the flesh into a small mixing bowl, add chopped fresh coriander, squeeze your lime add pepper and a dash of olive oil and mash away with a fork until its a smooth/chunky consistency. Set aside

Slice your haloumi and grill in a fry pan until its brown + toasted on each side. Doesn’t take long!

Set aside and wash your iceberg lettuce cups as these is what you want to be using as your healthy bun.

Once your patties have cooked on both sides and brown you can now build your healthy burger. Pop the patty in first and build from there! YUM
