BUILD & BLEND | how to make epic green smoothies

On first name basis with your your local barista and smoothie maker?! Hey so are we. But we know buying smoothies everyday can take a serious hit on the ATM available funds. So the TL TEAM made a wicked smoothie formula to build your own healthy smoothies at home leaving you with more mulla for online shopping. Siik. Blend away and enjoy.

We love packing our smoothies with loads of nutrients to rock our body with then most anti-oxidants (don’t know what anti-oxidants do? click here) possible. This is our little go to for when we want to mix up any smoothie loaded with goodness but still is bang on for taste.

FIRST STEP CHOOSE YOUR BASE

  • Almond milk
  • Soy milk
  • Coconut water
  • Water + Ice

Use any milk or liquid that floats your boat

AND THEN… LOAD IT WITH GREENS

  • Kale
  • Spinach
  • Dandelion
  • Beetroot greens
  • Cos Lettuce
  • Mint leaves

Choose 1, 2 or 3 – We often load our mixer up with Spinach or Kale

ADD A LIL BIT OF FRUIT..

  • Apple
  • Banana
  • Any berries
  • Mango
  • Avocado
  • Pear
  • Pineapple
  • Kiwi fruit
  • Lemon / Limes

This part is optional as many people have fructose intolerances so can’t have things like apples or pears mixed up in smoothies. If we’re blending we like to mix it up with a bit of banana, berries or for the added liver detox lemon or lime.

SUPERCHARGE IT

  • Chia seeds
  • Nut butter
  • Raw cacao
  • Matcha
  • Maca
  • Mesquite
  • Coconut oil
  • Spirulina

Take your smoothies to the next level buy adding a few of these superfoods loaded with antioxidants

BEFORE WE BLEND ..SOME SWEETNESS

  • Dates
  • Stevia
  • Raw honey
  • Rice malt syrup
  • Coconut sugar

Again optional but if you’re new to blending a bit of a sweetner is a good transition.
