7 Gut Healers | Everyday things to heal your digestion

Many people live or are living with gut and digestive problems (me included.)

I have been dealing with digestive issues since I was 10 years old. I remember crying to my mum with stabbing pains + constant bloating. An uncomfortable tummy was an everyday reality for me. Gas, bloating, constipation and irregular bowel movement (hot? I know right!) are all symptoms of your body telling you that your gut isn’t functioning properly and needs your attention ASAP.

Since a young teen I have been living with a food intolerance hence the crazy sh*t that was happening to my tummy for all those years. I am pretty much a pro now at healing the gut! Tummy problems are unfortunately very common in modern life.

I am going to give you my low down on how to heal that gut of yours with some quick hints and tips to help soothe a sore tum and banish that damn bloat.

1.Apple Cider Vinegar in the AM

ACV – 1 tbsp. in warm water on rising. This will stimulate your digestive system. BOOM!

2.Pop a probiotic

I take a probiotic supplement everyday. Feed the gut with good bacteria. Studies have shown that they can improve digestion, help protect against disease + enhance immune function. – WINNING!

3.Lower those stress levels

I know for me when I am super stressed I bloat up like a balloon. It is actually so crazy how quick it happens. Try adding meditation, Yoga or deep breathing into your daily routine just like you would brush your teeth. To be honest I didn’t really think much of meditation for digestion, however whenever I am blocked up with the bloat I add these tools into my life + the result is truly amazing.

4.Drink UP!

Fluid helps to remove excess waste and keeps our bowels healthy! – Easy!

5.Herbal Teas

Many Herbal teas may help improve digestion and limit any adverse digestive effects, such as gas and an upset tummy. Some of my all time favs are fennel, liquorice or the old faithful peppermint tea! Just add boiling water- no milk needed.

6.Kombucha

Kombucha isn’t for everyone (even me – I was so not a fan when I first tried it) After being fermented kombucha becomes carbonated and contains vinegar, b-vitamins, enzymes and probiotics. Some Benefits are below

  • Improved Digestion
  • Increased Energy
  • Cleansing and Detoxification

7.DigestZen Soft-gels

These soft gels have legit saved my life! Whenever I have a sore tummy or feel like I am getting bloated I pop some one or two gels. These babies help to soothe stomach discomfort and promote a healthy digestion.
